For the ultimate safety solution

Hoist Final Limit

A final limit switch is the ultimate safety trip item on a hoist or winding mechanism. It will operate if the normal service device fails to stop the load in an upward movement. This would be an emergency situation, and by necessity, the final limit must be extremely rugged and reliable.

The design and construction of the SCT 4002 FL final limit switch are such that it meets the heaviest Class 4 & 5 industrial requirements. It is a basic drop-weight device. It has a heavy-duty lever and counterweight, and the pivot point swings on a sealed bearing. The drop weight is attached to the lever with a 5m stainless steel rope. It is lifted by the beam or hook, and the rope is adjusted to suit the correct trip point for an emergency hoist stop.

The contact unit is a CH Type E50 roller lever operated industrial oil tight limit switch, to IP 66 protection. The steel roller lever is physically operated directly by the counterweight. It does not rely for operation on the spring mechanism in the E50 device.

The final limit contact is normally connected directly into the coil circuit of the main contactor in the crane protection of the controls. A trip will remove full mains power to the drives, and the system brakes will apply.
